Dr. Djaoued Bedjaoui is the Senior Advisor for Health at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC. In this capacity, Dr. Bedjaoui provides oversight and strategic advice to the Ambassador and U.S. missions on health and medical affairs. Dr. Bedjaoui serves as liaison between UAE healthcare entities and stakeholders and U.S. medical centers. Dr. Bedjaoui’s remit includes patient care, strategic collaborations and partnerships, contracting with Major US facilities, new business development and representing the interests of the UAE and the UAE Ambassador in health related matters.
Prior to returning to the UAE Embassy in his current position, Dr. Bedjaoui was Canada Information Officer for MD Anderson Cancer Center (TX, USA) in Toronto, Canada where he oversaw enterprise relationships and patients relations in North America for one of the world’s leading facilities in cancer. After graduation from Medical school in Oran, Algeria, Dr. Bedjaoui specialized in healthcare administration by earning an MBA from HEC – Hautes Etudes Commercial at The University of Montreal. Before joining the UAE Crown’s Prince Court Medical Office, as a Medical Advisor, he worked at Montreal Stock Exchange as a biotech Analyst.
Dr. Bedjaoui has been an early and well-recognized advocate of health care diplomacy as a tool to bring & connect nations and cultures together. His efforts to promote cross-cultural health philanthropy and bi-lateral collaboration have led to the formalization of contracts between the UAE Embassy & major US health and education facilities.
